Use of drone in construction has been increasing rapidly and in next ten years the use of drone is bound to increase manifold. As the industry will see the benefit, the drone manufacturers will bring more innovative technologies. There are major benefits of using drone, especially in road, construction of dam, oil excavation projects in remote area, surveillance of forest area and bridge constructions, large housing and commercial projects. Drones these days are also used by army and border security forces. The Indian construction industry is undergoing a sea change with rapid evolution of technologies. Along with the growth of robotic science and growth of Artificial Intelligence the entire concept will change over the next 10 years for better, faster and economical ways in real estate construction.

According to industry report, India is one of the fastest growing real estate markets. By 2040, real estate market to grow to Rs 65,000 crore (US$ 9.30 billion) from Rs 12,000 crore (US$ 1.72 billion) in 2019. Real estate sector in India is expected to reach a market size of US$ 1 trillion by 2030 from US$ 120 billion in 2017 and contribute 13 per cent of the country\'s GDP by 2025.This is by any standard is very high and to cope up with the growth newer technologies will become essential part of real estate construction sector.

There are many advantages of using drone in construction process.

1. Using drone is highly cost effective. A drone carrying out site survey can save the cost of physical effort for surveys. A typical topographical survey by using drone almost 50% of the cost can be saves. Further, there can be some oversight when manual surveys are done but the Drones equipped with high-resolution thermal cameras serve as an excellent investigative tool provide batter accuracy.

2. Quickens the process by eradicating the requirement of shutting down active work sites for maintenance and inspection. All verification about pipeline laying, roof casting, shuttering can be carried out safely under UAV supervision. ( In recent years, (UAV) unmanned aerial vehicles have received a significant attention in the research community, due to their adaptability in different applications, such as surveillance, disaster response, traffic monitoring, transportation of goods, first aid, etc.).Drones can monitor all activities and provide comprehensive reports which are highly dependable and reduces construction time frame which results into faster completion of projects.

3. Integration of Drones with BIM (Building Information Modeling). Data fed by Drone can effectively undertake numerous tasks to provide authentic information to BIM software for quick analysis of data and speed up the workflow. The drone provides scalable point cloud scanning and photographs at different stages of construction.

4. Customer support is one of the most effective ways to take a customer for a virtual tour of the project. Especially under the present COVID 19 lock down situation customers can view the entire progress of the project on a real time basis without having to come for site visit. This feature of showing real time virtual image has given a new dimension to real estate marketing perspective. Drones are equipped with high-resolution thermal cameras which serve as an excellent investigative tool. Customer can see a see a 360 degree overview using 3D software which dramatically enhances the image quality. The cameras are mounted on drones which then gives 360 degree overview of the project into 3D reality mesh model. (You can quickly produce even the most challenging 3D models of existing conditions for infrastructure projects of all types, derived from simple photographs and/or point clouds. Without the need for expensive, specialized equipment, you can quickly create and use these highly detailed, 3D reality meshes to provide precise real-world context for design, construction, and operations decisions for use throughout the lifecycle of a project.
